(“Yes. In our room on Monday night.”)

[... 26 paragraphs ...]

(“Yes. We had a rear corner room.”)

[... 1 paragraph ...]

(“Yes. It was somewhat like a palm tree, only shorter. The leaves made noise in the wind.”)

[... 3 paragraphs ...]

(“Yes.”)

[... 8 paragraphs ...]

(“No, as to the husband’s squat build. He is tall and slender. Yes, in that he uses his hands in his work. He is a contractor.”

[... 2 paragraphs ...]

(“Yes. Not on Wednesday; but Thursday night we stopped at a casino where there were dice, and gambling.”)

[... 1 paragraph ...]

(“Yes to both. Bill clearly remembers a white man, at least 60 years old by his estimate, who stood next to him at the roulette table at the casino. Bill noticed that the man wore three rings on his fingers; he thought this quite unusual.”)

[... 7 paragraphs ...]

(“Yes. At our hotel, The Americana, there is a very shallow pool that is actually half in and half out of the hotel, on the ground floor, which is one level lower than the lobby. This pool runs inside the hotel from the outside and is decorated with flowers, etc.”

[... 15 paragraphs ...]

(“Yes. We did walk through such a large terminal on our arrival in New York City.”)

[... 1 paragraph ...]

(“Yes. Bill’s ulcer did bother him then.”

[... 2 paragraphs ...]

(“Yes. We decided to look for a place to have a sandwich before the flight to Elmira.”)

[... 9 paragraphs ...]

(“Yes. This took place a week before, on the Sunday night we arrived in San Juan, October 17. We paid a $3.00 fare to go from the airport to our hotel. We thought the fare much too high and were both angry; the last time we had visited San Juan the same ride cost less than $2.00; perhaps $1.50.”)

[... 4 paragraphs ...]

(“Yes. The cab driver did take a sharp right and go in that direction. This happened after the cab driver ran through a red light and frightened us.”)

[... 24 paragraphs ...]

(“Yes. Twice we swam at San Juan Municipal Beach.”

[... 15 paragraphs ...]

(“Yes. Bill went swimming. Also snorkeling, with the face mask but no tank.”

[... 25 paragraphs ...]

([Peggy:] “Yes. Our door opened off the center of the porch.”

[... 3 paragraphs ...]

({Peggy:] “Yes. Bill watched such a man from just outside the guest house. He was colored. Bill watched this man each morning; he noticed the man because he wore a suit and hat as though for business, instead of the usual tourist attire. He carried a black briefcase. The large bulky building was a post office.”

[... 19 paragraphs ...]

([Peggy:] “Yes. The speakers were constantly interrupted by the various reporters attending.”)

[... 1 paragraph ...]

([Peggy:] “Yes. A question-and-answer session was held after each speaker had finished his formal talk.”)

[... 11 paragraphs ...]

([Peggy:] “Yes.” Peggy said the reporters were deluged with pamphlets every day they were present. She herself accumulated a stack of pamphlets seven inches high, weighing several pounds.)

[... 9 paragraphs ...]

([Peggy:] “Yes. They were folding-type chairs with cushioned seats, as found in theaters. They were very comfortable. These chairs were lined up at long narrow tables. The whole conference except for trips was held in this particular conference room.”)

[... 1 paragraph ...]

(Yes, most definitely. This evening, Monday, December 6, Bill Gallagher’s ulcer bothered him to such an extent that he called a doctor. This he seldom has to do.

[... 2 paragraphs ...]

([Peggy:] “Yes.” Peggy said a large part of the seminar was devoted to discussing methods by which it would be determined which individuals would be able to take part in various programs. Their capabilities, intellectual, financial, physical, etc., would have to be determined.)

[... 3 paragraphs ...]

([Peggy:] “Yes.”)

[... 9 paragraphs ...]

([Peggy:] “Yes.” Peggy attended such a banquet. It was held in the same executive conference room as all the other seminar meetings; as stated, tables were long and narrow, with theater-type chairs. Lunch was also served at these tables each day).

[... 1 paragraph ...]

([Peggy:] “Yes. To wind up the seminar on poverty a press conference was held with Sargent Shriver, director of the poverty program. The disturbance occurred when an incensed group from Syracuse appeared and tried to disrupt the conference time reserved for the reporters.”

[... 2 paragraphs ...]

([Peggy:] “Yes, although the initials are R. D.” Peggy wanted to talk with a certain official on the poverty program; his offices were on a floor lower than that of the seminar, in the same building. Peggy went to the man’s offices on Tuesday and waited for some time there. Failing to see him, she made an appointment for Wednesday, but did not keep this appointment because of the press of other business.)

[... 6 paragraphs ...]

(Yes, in that Peggy was in the small separate gathering that visited Camp Kilmer, northeast of Washington, on Wednesday. See page 165. Peggy remembered that the bus taking them to Camp Kilmer was far from full; her notes later confirmed that 12 reporters and 2 aides made the trip.)

[... 7 paragraphs ...]

([Peggy:] “Yes.” Seeing the above word in the material caused Peggy to say that it was quite unusual. At the seminar Peggy was surprised to hear the name of Secretary of Defense McNamara brought up rather strongly in connection with Sargent Shriver and the poverty program. The connection being a comparison of the two men’s tactics in running their respective departments. Peggy said the point was hammered at more than once during the seminar.)
