The ego, not yet fully formed, allows them more freedom. For this reason also they have more telepathic and clairvoyant dreams than do adults. They also have more psychic energy, practically speaking. That is, they are able to draw upon energy more easily. Because of the intenseness of their waking existence, the chemical excesses build up at a faster rate. Therefore children actually have more of this chemical propellant to use in the formation of dreams.

They are actually more conscious of their dreams, for the ego does not prevent awareness at this stage to the same degree that it will do later.

(Pause at 10:09.) Impressions again, perhaps a round object in his hand. He thinks of papers on a desk, or in a briefcase, that seem to have to do with a particular plan.

I believe he has been irritated by a particular person, a male. I do not know... There is a connection, something to do with lights. Perhaps in connection with the man. Does he perhaps live on Light Street? Or his name (Jane gestured, her eyes still closed) Light Man—Lightman, or something of that sort. (Pause.)

Also something to do with a federal matter. Dr. Instream is thinking philosophically now. Perhaps the round object in his hands has something to do with lights, as a bulb. (Gesture, and pause at 10:15.)

Do you have a test for me, Joseph ?

Not a photograph. Some kind of lettering (pause) and design. Joseph’s initials have to do with it, but it is not an object with which he has great personal concern; though there may be a wallet connection, I doubt it.

Perhaps something to do with neighbors indirectly. Mostly design, but with bare portions, and originals rather than exact duplicates. (Pause.) A fencelike shape.

Now in regard to our own test this evening: Ruburt, at this stage, should not work on our own test results as he has been doing. He has been concentrating too much on grading our tests.

(“Do you want to say a few words about Lorraine Shafer being in York Beach the same week in August that Dr. Instream was there? Is there any connection at all between the two visits?”)

A tenuous one. Marleno knew about your experience at York Beach, and because of circumstances in her own life she visited the general territory. An emotional connection with the sessions did have quite a bit to do with her particular visit to York Beach, however, and there was on her part a subconscious knowledge that Dr. Instream had been there also. I have told you that telepathy operates continually, and has strong emotional connections, so this should be no surprise.
