(The session was a quiet one and was held in our small back room. Jane spoke while sitting down, with her eyes closed and in a rather rapid manner, throughout the session. Occasionally she used pauses. Her voice was quiet to begin with, but where indicated it began to deepen. It did not acquire much more volume. This manifestation reminded me somewhat of the deeper voice effect Jane showed in the 172nd session. In that session Seth stated that it would become natural and easy for Jane to speak in that manner.)

(The material on buttons surprised me a great deal. I had forgotten about Ella’s penchant for collecting things, and as far as I know had not mentioned it to Jane. Jane had no conscious memory of my doing so. As soon as Seth mentioned buttons, I immediately had a picture of Aunt Ella holding an old-fashioned red tin box, in which many buttons lay. As a boy I had been fascinated by this.)

I do not like to deal with isolated facts. For various reasons it is easier for me to deal with blocks of related material. Much shuffling is required to give isolated facts. While I am engrossed in this particular subject I will therefore continue with it. You end up with better and more detailed information in this way, since certain associations invoke related data.

(Jane had been facing me as she spoke from her prone position, and I had noticed that her eyes had appeared to be slitted, as though preparing to open. They now did open, slowly, as she continued speaking. They were very dark and without highlights.
