SESSION 141
[... 1 paragraph ...]
(Yesterday, Tuesday, Jane suffered no apparent psychic fatigue from her prolonged trance state of last Monday. See the last session. She has of course tried no psychological time experiments since then.
[... 1 paragraph ...]
(Jane returned at 7:05 PM, and confirmed my thought. She had indeed, on impulse, visited Bob and Mary Piper, friends of ours whom we had not seen for many months. She had not consciously been thinking of visiting them when she left me. She recalled mentioning my name often in conversation with Mary Piper, particularly to the effect that I might be concerned because she, Jane, did not return promptly. It will be recalled that the Pipers witnessed the 73rd session [See Volume 2].
(Once again the session was held in our back room, and Jane spoke sitting down and with her eyes closed. She does not wear her glasses at all during sessions now. Her voice was rather quiet, her delivery contained pauses as usual.)

(Jane also likened this feeling, which she called feeling a “certain way,” to the rhythmical, not-too-strenuous opening and closing of a hand. Note also that she used this hand analogy to describe a pulsation in the 139th session. See page 295.

(For material on the three creative dilemmas of inner vitality, see the 138th session.)
[... 1 paragraph ...]
An ego could be compared to a small dam in this respect. However, action constantly forms perceptual patterns in which it can view itself. Again, these patterns are formed one within the other, and they could be said to form that imaginary structure which we called the fifth dimension, so many sessions ago.
(See the 12th session, of January 2, 1964 [in Volume 1].)

(Break at 9:55. Jane said she was even more dissociated than during her first delivery. Seth, she said, felt very pleased with himself when he referred to the fifth dimension material; as if to say, “See, this material is why I couldn’t explain any more of the fifth dimension to you, way back in the 12th session.”

(Break at 10:25. Jane was again well dissociated. For material on the inner ego, the self-conscious self behind the self-conscious self, see the 28th session.

I will now close a most excellent session.

(She reported that at the end of the session she received a strong emotional feeling from Seth. It was directed toward us and was to this effect: “Through action, see how I’m a part of you both now, and how foolish it is of you to worry about identities, when all identities are so bound together.”
(Jane quoted this to me immediately after the session ended, and I include it here without change. My point is to show that she did not have time to consciously tinker with the thought, to recompose it in a literary sense, etc.)
