“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Jane feels she could have had a session at about 3:30 PM, Saturday, after a rejection from Playboy arrived in the mail. The rejection slip was not accompanied by a letter and this made her angry. She thought of Seth’s statements in the 104th session, concerning a sale that “has developed,” and wondered just what the statement meant. She doubted its veracity. She then received from Seth, mentally, a firm statement repeating that a sale has developed. I was talking to her at the time but she did not mention the incident to me.

(Around suppertime Saturday when we were again discussing the matter of interpretation of prediction data, Jane again felt Seth nearby. This time she mentioned it to me but I left it up to her, as to whether she wanted a session. She did not take me up on the situation and so none was held.

(As session time approached Jane had no idea of the material for the session. She told me she “still feels funny” even after all this time, when she hasn’t any idea about the material to come.

(Jane began dictation in a normal voice, at an average rate. Again her glasses were off, her eyes dark, her pacing regular.)

(Now Jane smiled. She was quite amused as she paced about.)

(Break at 9:29. Jane was dissociated as usual. She put her glasses on as soon as break arrived. She said that while delivering the above material she felt a strong sense of certainty that the sessions did not come from her subconscious; she felt an energy she knew she did not have available ordinarily.

(Jane’s delivery had gradually become more emphatic as the session progressed, and she resumed in this more energetic manner, although still with pauses, at 9:35.)

(Break at 10:00. Jane was dissociated as usual. As soon as she stopped dictating she put her glasses on again. Without speaking any faster, she resumed in a somewhat louder voice at 10:07.)

(Jane had delivered the above material with many pauses, some of which were quite long. Now she looked at me and attempted by gestures to show what she meant. I nodded.)

(Break at 10:29. Jane ended the delivery with a smile. She was well dissociated, she said, and had indeed been in a good state all evening. My writing hand was tiring, otherwise I would not have taken the break.

(Jane resumed at a somewhat faster rate at 10:37, again without her glasses.)

(This last statement would refer to the 104th session, November 4, 1964. See pages 125-6. Here Seth made rather strong statements concerning sales by Jane of her writings. Since none have developed yet as far as Jane being notified is concerned, we wonder how we should interpret such material.)

(End at 10:55. Jane was fully dissociated. My writing hand was also quite weary.

(Seth has mentioned using the recorder before. I have wondered however just how much we will use it, when it is fixed. Usually by the end of a session Jane is tired, ready to quit. I would not be in favor of extending her labors in such cases. She would have to continue in the same manner as when dictating to me; my having a respite would do her no good.
