(Jane did some work on one of her paintings last night. She later told me that while working on it she felt quite uneasy. The feeling lasted for some time. No definite thoughts came to her about the sense of unease, and she had difficulty putting it into words.

The barrier, if it may be so called, is not so much in the nature of the two dimensions themselves, but in your own limitations, since presently you are focused mainly in one of these. Until a certain area of psychic development is attained, awareness, or rather direct awareness, is only possible in one dimension at a time, though experience in other dimensions in varying degrees may be received separately.

There are other dimensions, some of which you are almost ignorant, in which however you exist, or have some valid effect; where you are projected and where in one way or another you form a reference point.

The whole self as you know has its existence in uncamouflaged energy, and is therefore capable of the assimilation of knowledge in so far as it can, if it chooses, be basically unaffiliated to any one camouflage dimension or perspective. In actual practice this takes a supreme development, but even for general purposes the inner self retains a freedom from camouflage perspectives, and is aware in varying degrees of other perspectives, and of its existence outside of them.

(Jane had been delivering the material while pacing barefoot around the room. At one point she inadvertently knocked her foot against a metal coffee table leg. The blow made a good noise and I expected her to break off dictation, or at least wince. However she continued on as though nothing had happened. She now told me she felt her foot strike the leg of the table, but that ordinarily it would have bothered her a lot more than it did.
