(See the 41st session for Seth’s first long dissertation on the spacious present. This was delivered April 6. The 44th session includes much on the basic laws of the inner universe also, as do the other sessions received during this period. As this material continues to expand it becomes more difficult to pinpoint references on a subject to a given few pages.)

You will need perhaps to reread your material on the spacious present, since our explanation here will be necessarily in terms of sequence of events, when as you know in the spacious present events are actually simultaneous. When the personality withdraws itself from the physical image therefore, in a sort of slow motion of actual simultaneous happenings, this is what occurs.

The physical image does not immediately disappear, for a number of reasons. The personality, through the inner self, has indeed created or constructed the physical form, but the very material from which it was constructed also contains its peculiar consciousness, as you know.

There is much involved here that a reading of past sessions on matter will make plain. You realize of course that the atoms and molecules within the physical image continually change during existence on the physical field. Openings, so to speak, for the influx of new material into the physical form, are made possible by the inner self. When it abdicates it closes up the possibility of this repairing type of molecular action.

Remembering again your material of the spacious present, a portion of personality retention however still surrounds those physical reference points with which the personality was familiar.

Ruburt, incidentally, is to be congratulated, as he is just beginning to read books on physics, in order to intellectually keep up with the material as I give it. Never having read such books before, he was astounded to discover that I knew what he did not. He should be used to this by now.

(Jane delivered the above paragraph with a smile. It is true that she, and I to a lesser extent, have begun to read up on our physics. Both of us have largely neglected the subject since school days, although of course we came across references to it in other reading, since the subject plays such an important part in everyday life now. Jane has been quite surprised to find many references in these books that tally with what Seth has said. Many other points in the books have served as jumping-off points for Seth’s material, also.)

I have told you that a plane was not necessarily a location in space, but a field of mental vitality. The material that I have given you on the fifth dimension will here prove invaluable. I have told you that it is space, since this was the beginning of our discussions. During our earliest session I used the term space for simplicity’s part for your sakes, while still explaining most carefully that this fifth-dimensional space was far different than what you consider space to be.

(I presume here that by “earliest session” Seth refers to his first material on the fifth dimension, given in the 12th session. Space as a fifth dimension was however also referred to in the first session. See Volume 1, page 8. This first session material was given to us through Frank Watts, however. Frank Watts is a fragment of Seth’s entity. Seth stated recently that the Seth material begins when he announced his presence to us by name, and this would be in the 4th session. See the 85th session, Volume 2, page 336, for Seth’s statement concerning the Frank Watts material.)

I would suggest Joseph, that when you find the time, or if you can coerce Ruburt into doing it for you, insert here for any reader’s convenience a copy of the early material, in which I set up the imagined structure of mazes.

A rereading of the material will make this plain, but there are still other dimensions based upon entirely different systems. And between these there can be no communication. They are strange to me.
