“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Jim visited Jane at the gallery and she invited him to the house on Friday night so that we could discuss Seth. Jim also wanted to tell us about two of his friends who had been running some telepathy tests with personnel at the parapsychology lab at Duke University. Jim would attempt to bring one of the friends with him Friday. Bill Macdonnel, the witness to the 46th session, would also be there.

(At 10:25 Jane abruptly handed to me a paper and pencil and pointed to the table. I had my own equipment handy however, and grabbed them up. Jane began to dictate then in a strong and somewhat deeper voice, pacing rather energetically. It was the first session with more than one witness. Note, also, that at the close of the 46th session, Seth had remarked that he would “speak to you Monday if not before.”)

This session is outside of our regular sessions because I have known that Roarck would finally be drawn here, and it is for his benefit that I have called the session. There are others who will come. Do not, however, consider that you yourselves have truth in the palm of your hands.

Any material, to exist on your plane, must to some extent don the attire of your plane, and in the very entry to your plane it must be somewhat distorted. I must use phrases with which your minds are somewhat familiar. I must use Ruburt’s subconscious to some degree. If I did not take advantage of your own camouflage system, then you would not be able to understand the material at this time.

Ruburt was quite correct. I found both of your attitudes earlier this evening to be extremely smug. You find it easy to blame others for not having the knowledge that you have thus far obtained, when you forget that I had much to do with choosing who would receive the knowledge. The situation and the time and the growth of your own abilities had something to do with this. While I am certainly not one given to humility, nevertheless your smugness is truly astronomical.

If you are of the mind, Joseph, you may subtract the minutes of tonight’s session from your next session. However, I would personally think it rather small.

Some night I will address many people, all of whom knew me, and many of whom knew each other. When Ruburt’s abilities mature, and when if ever he is able to forget that awesome ego, we will really show some signs. I was not originally in favor of gaudy displays. However, your precious Psychic Society has made me feel as if I would like to give them a good boot.

(Break at 11:15. Jane was fully dissociated. Jim felt more comfortable now, his chills had abated; my hand was okay; and Bill had a list of perhaps two dozen instances wherein he had known beforehand what series of words Jane would use to present certain thoughts. The phrases were three and four words long.

(I did think to myself: “Well now, she’s having trouble with that window, but I’ll open it for her. Not only that, I’ll do it while I’m standing right here—by mental power. She’ll be surprised.” My actual thoughts would closely parallel this dialogue.
