I remember that she had seemed oddly intrigued by them, and that they had borne more than a little physical resemblance to us. The woman’s face especially had reminded me of Jane, though she had indeed been fatter. The man had my build, my shape of head, and much whiter hair. They had been a peculiarly unsmiling couple. I recall also that Jane mentioned that she wanted to talk to them. I had not wanted to, and we did not approach them.
