Ruburt is subconsciously aware of them in most cases, but seldom brings this to consciousness, so it is simply a feeling of disquietude on his part. He feels he will be interrupted, but is not consciously aware of this, you see.
Now I suggest that our regular sessions for a while be held in one of your back rooms, (where my studio is), for two reasons. You will know the phone will not interrupt you, with both doors closed. Simply ignore it. Let it be known that anyone who wants to attend private sessions must then arrange so in advance. Otherwise you would not hear them at the door.
