The next chapter will deal with your physical reality as it appears to me and others like me. This chapter will contain some rather fascinating points, for not only do you form the physical reality that you know, but you are also forming other quite valid environments in other realities by your present thoughts, desires and emotions.

Reading the finished book was a delightful experience. As a whole it was completely new to me, though each word had been spoken through my lips, and I had devoted many evenings in trance to its production. This was particularly strange to me since I am a writer myself, used to organizing my own material, keeping track of it, and hovering over it like a mother hen.

I was not connected in this way with Seth’s book, and had no awareness of the creative processes involved. I went into trance as I do for our regular sessions. Seth dictated the book through me, speaking through my lips. The creative work was so distant from me, that in this respect I could not call the product my own. I am, instead, given a complete product in Seth’s book — an excellent one — for which I am, of course, exceedingly grateful.

Besides this, I have certain unique experiences during sessions that seem to compensate for my lack of conscious creative involvement. Often I participate in Seth’s great energy and humor, for example, enjoying a sense of emotional richness and encountering Seth’s personality on a very strange level. I feel his mood and vitality clearly, though they are not directed at me, but to whomever Seth is addressing at the moment. I feel them as they pass through me.

Still, my experience enriches Seth Two, and his experiences enrich me to the extent that I am able to perceive and translate them for my own use. In the same way, Ruburt’s personality is expanded through relationship with me, and I also gain through the experience, as even the best of teachers learns from each dimension of activity.

In the gestalt of my personality, as in your terms I lived later richer lives, that woman was alive again in me — as, for example, the child is alive in the adult, and filled with gratitude comparing later circumstances to the earlier existences. She urged me to use my advantages better.

[...] Then she told me Seth was “around” and that the session would begin in a moment. [...]

[...] But in your terms, Seth Two is far further divorced from my reality than I am from Ruburt’s. You can imagine Seth Two as a future portion of me if you prefer, and yet far more is involved.

The bells were only a small portion of my business, which dealt largely with cloths and dyes, but they fascinated me. [...] My curiosity drove me to journey in search of different kinds of bells, and led me into contact with many people I would not otherwise have encountered.

[...] It was he who told me about the symbol of the eye. He also told me that the man, Christ, was kidnapped by the Essenes. [...] Nor at the time he told me did I know who Christ was.

[...] Let me now tell you that there are other realities involved. The following paragraphs will be written by another personality, who stands relatively in the same position to me as I stand to the woman through whom I am now speaking.

[...] In that life my main occupation was that of a merchant, but I was a highly curious gentleman, and my travels gave me access to many different groups of people.

[...] Again, the names and dates have little meaning to me now. [...]

(Long pause at 10:20.) A cousin or brother was important to me. [...]

[...] They were considered heretics, and several times petitions were given to me against them. [...]

My own “previous” personalities are not dissolved into me any more than your “past” personalities. [...]

(Finally Jane told me: “I’m just trying to relax…. [...]

[...] You will have to give me time here. [...]

(Pause at 10:00.) This is difficult to explain, and even for me to unravel…. [...]
