(Edgar and Maria explained their method of healing by hypnosis. Edgar hypnotizes Maria and she, by scanning lights which she sees in the patient’s chest, can read the symptoms. Edgar remarked he would like Seth’s comments on their method.)

(To Edgar) Now, and I say this with utmost kindness and good nature, you can tell Ruburt that you have no feelings, and you can tell the class that you have no feelings, and you can tell others that you do not care what is said or done to you, but do not tell me. Now in your position, you of all people, should recognize feelings within yourself, the effects of others upon you and be even more vigilant of the effect of what you say upon others.

(To Edgar) And you must learn also to look beyond your own facade for you believe in it utterly, and yet it is not you. The work you are doing is valuable and can be, but it demands a high integrity of a kind you are only beginning to learn. By integrity, I am speaking of honesty with self that demands you to go beyond the self-deceptions that you accept as your self at any given point.

(To Edgar and Maria.) Now another thought. You must try to avoid an overconcentration now upon the negative simply because you are looking for symptoms with the people who come to you. This is extremely important, otherwise you can project also. Your own thoughts and feelings should be those of health and vitality so that these alone help in the healing process. Now these are things that you will learn, and I am not scolding you, do not look at me like that, or you will make me cry, but it is the only time I have to get a hold of you, and so I want you to understand what I am saying.

(During break Edgar remarked Seth said he asked foolish questions. Several members of class remarked Edgar and Maria might be giving their patients negative suggestions. Maria remarked Seth yelled at her.)

(To Edgar) I did not say it was foolish to ask questions. Now when you read the text you will see that I simply said you were beginning to learn to ask the proper questions, for some questions can be traps that betray you.

(Jane gives reincarnational information to Edgar and Maria.)

(To Edgar) Now you should not sit back and say because a particular thing happened to me in the past I have this attitude. Once you realize that is the reason you must also know that you are an entire individual and can indeed change that pattern of reaction and feel within yourself that energy that you feel, that upsurge of strength and vitality that lets you know you can do this and court that feeling of energy and teach her to court it.

(Maria had scanned Jane the previous evening. While Seth was speaking Edgar hypnotized Maria so she could scan Seth and wondered if Maria should tell Seth or Jane her findings.)

(To Edgar) As it is your right and your heritage.

(Edgar brought Maria out of trance. Maria remarked there was no change or fluctuation in the lights while Seth was speaking than she had seen in Jane the previous evening.)

([Edgar:] “What is the attraction between us two [meaning to Sue]?”)

I was speaking about feelings directed toward our friend here (Edgar) and I was pointing at you. I was pointing at you and at you (Sue) and at you (Maria). There were others, also, but the feelings in this case were of a different nature. The same applies to Ruburt and the both of you.
