And the time has come for you to experience fresh and new concepts and to find them within yourselves for the miracle of consciousness is your own as it is my own, or Ruburt’s own. You are each the miracles of consciousness, and those miracles occur within you constantly in your terms of time. Therefore, each of you possess within yourselves inroads, or if you prefer outroads, where other portions of reality and other selves merge and reemerge, come and go, materialize, in your terms, and dematerialize. The answers, as you know therefore, are not only within yourself but pass through you automatically if you but realize it and know it. And within yourselves you each possess in miniature all the properties of the universe as you conceive of it at this present time.

To some extent Ruburt’s voice was your own voice, the voice of each of you leading you on journeys that you wanted to take. Initiating adventures that you want yourselves to make.

Now my dear love. Jane may or may not look into your playing cards. I do not know. That is up to her or to Ruburt. As far as I am concerned, I will not bother. Now we have been through this with keener minds than your own. The claims I make, I make not only for myself, but for you and for each person in this room. You can perceive those playing cards as clearly as I can, and if you will not believe me, you will not believe yourself. When I follow through with such demonstrations, I will do so not in the confines of this room and not under conditions set by you, but in a situation in which the claims are clearly recorded with the results in which there is no possibility that anyone will say suggestion is involved; in which no one will be able to say that scientific principles were not clearly set upon and not to satisfy your curiosity! You can, however, prove to yourself by reading the cards. I do not have the doubts, you do.

I could indeed and you can interpret what I am saying in any way that you choose. The fact remains that it is you, not I, who are worried about my perceptions. The fact remains that what we have done has been set clearly forth in the book that Ruburt has written. You can accept that, or you can deny it, and as far as Seth or Ruburt are concerned that is your right.

And any work that is done, is done with Ruburt’s consent, and our friend got his back up quite well after working for two years with psychologists. And if I were you, I would tiptoe out the door before someone tells him what you have come up with, for I am also dependent to some idea upon his receptivity and ideas. And that is exactly as it should be.

I do not consider it, at this time, revelant. I did when Ruburt was so concerned.

My opinion is that that I have given. Had you come here, however, when the sessions had shortly begun, and Ruburt was himself looking for that kind of proof, the answer may have been different. It is what I have given you now, however, and I fear that like our friend, Instream, unless you change you will be looking for proofs that mean nothing and ignoring the inner reality that is all important and closing your mind to inner validity that alone will give you the kind of proofs that you require. They will come from the inside and not from skepticism. And then you will see them. For example, had your attitude been different and your whole emotional atmosphere been different, and had you in a mood of fun and free giving thrown cards upon the table when I was speaking and said, “Seth, what is on the other side of the cards?” you may have gotten an answer. But not in the framework in which you asked the question nor in the framework in which you proposed the experiment.

Now, before I let my friends very sweetly and nicely rush to my defense, let me mention that Ruburt also when classes began, made an effort, as our friend over here remembers, to give spontaneous readings which worked very well. This means that they checked out. He quickly found, however, that that was not the answer, that people merely said, “He has the answers, and I have none,” that they projected upon him abilities that they thought they did not possess. And therefore he has changed that policy. Whenever evidential material has been given, my dear friend, and it has been given to help others deal with a problem that was of vital interest, it has not been given as a demonstration, and it has not been given to prove anything to anyone.
