Both of you have this thing about noise, and so I will speak to you both at once. And all of you in class did very well. This young man came up with some very good ideas about you as did everyone else in the room. It is only for you now to see and to hear. The world is not as tumultuous as you imagine it to be, and you can hold your own within it. You can, indeed. You can clear your own ears and your own vision. All you have to do is realize that within yourself is the ability to face each life, each day as a life, as you come to it. You are trying too hard now. You must relax and trust the inner self to see and to hear.

The early problems that helped trigger your difficulty you can now, as an adult, overcome these by realizing that the inner self has its own knowledge and its own ways. You can hear me, and I will see to it that you do. Imagine yourself answering questions that have been put to you. You need not imagine that you are hearing clearly. If you imagine that you are answering the questions, then it will be taken for granted that you have heard them correctly. When you try too hard to hear or see, you hear and see less. Relax and let this be taken care of for you. Now you do not trust the inner self to do these things, and you must learn to accept the inner ancient wisdom that is your own.

Now each of you, in your own way, hide certain groupings of feelings from yourselves so I am not necessarily directing this specifically at our friend here except that she has the trouble with the ear this evening. The earlier incident, of which you spoke earlier to Ruburt, is connected with this one. And later I will see that Ruburt tells you about it more specifically. For now I will simply tell you that the connection is there. You know that it is, but you must think of what noise represents to you, and what it is that you do not want to hear, and why at this particular time you do not want to hear it.
