He and the Catlover (Seth’s nickname for Maggie Granger) chose one particular way because they are too cagey and shrewd to take another recommended way. They can stand and look out over the ocean and sight two or three other islands, one they have visited. They plan to see three other islands.

And the Grangers have come from down a road or path, that is somewhat hilly, from a settlement there, and they have been riding, perhaps bicycles or wagon-like vehicles—or a wagon driven by animals—pulled by animals.
