The remarks are these—We will and we have, to a very small extent here, begun a study of multidimensional psychology...and it will be the psychology of the future for it will regard personality in its true and entire light. Methods will be given that will allow the present ego, to some extent, to become aware of its own greater reality. And a man or a woman who is aware of only one of his or her own egos will be considered an idiot, indeed. But this will take some time.
Now, this is a quiet evening and I am pleased with our small gathering. I wanted to tell you that symbolically, you (Brad) are winning, you are making adjustments, in more than weight. For the weight was indeed symbolic. You will find that some further adjustments will be much easier. The inner adjustments came first and the loss of weight later. The loss of weight is a physical materialization of the inner change. And you can expect others to follow.

And Jung’s so-called “unconscious” is very conscious indeed. When you allow yourselves enough freedom, you will be able to close your eyes and become aware of these other fully conscious portions of your own identity. For when you momentarily leave aside your ego, as I have told you before, there is not chaos, there is not darkness, there is not a maze of subjectivity. Instead, there is a fully conscious and wise light. And the light belongs to other layers of your own personality. It illuminates your own egotistical awareness even now whether or not you realize it, and it guides your actions even now whether or not you realize it.

Now. I have told you often that there are methods by which you can indeed take your waking self into the dream state and follow your own travels. Now you follow them but you (Rose) will not remember; and you (Sally) follow them sometimes; and you (Rachel) follow them sometimes; and you (Amelia) are beginning to put one foot upon the path; and you (Brad) have not as yet allowed yourself to remember any of your dream encounters. But the point is that you can indeed learn to do this—that it is not impossible. It is not only probable, but it is not even difficult.
Once psychology realizes that the personality is also alert and conscious in the dream state, then indeed its precepts and its bases must change. For information is given to you not only in your waking, conscious, alert daily life but in what you would call your unconscious sleep state. Now your sleeping self is awake all of the time—you dream all of the time. Your dream life is continuous, only your waking ego closes out the inner stimuli and does not see it, for it must concentrate upon physical daily reality. But it can learn to look inward, change the focus of its awareness and take quick pictures of this inner environment. So more than reincarnational existences are involved.

Now. There is not a karmic relationship with her. She stands in your mind for someone else with whom you did have a karmic relationship. That is not, however, your main problem. You have attempted in many ways to set up a strong relationship with your environment. You have tried to do this through weight. You have tried to say, “I am here solidly. (Pause.) Look at me. Who is more real than I for I take up so many inches of space? I weigh so much, I am here.” At the same time, you were afraid of physical reality, and because of your environment in this life, you are afraid that you could not deal with it. You must first prove to yourself that you can indeed deal with it.

You may, but the point is, you must know that the tree in the forest survives, and it reaches toward the sun. And you as an individual can survive, andthen you are free to make other relationships—and in a wholesome and constructive manner. You must feel your oneness and your safety with the physical reality that you know. You must realize that you are projecting these insecurities from a past existence when you were indeed frightfully insecure. Therefore, you made demands upon this woman that she could not fulfill and she resented them. Now. She also made demands upon you, for her own reasons and we shall try to go into this some evening.

Now. Consciously—before this evening—you thought and you told yourself you could hold a position but you could not. If you were able to do so you would have done so. The tie-up between the past existence and the present one will affect you the same way in this case as it did in the case of your weight. Before you were indulging in wishful thinking. Now you should have the purpose and the inner realization that you can indeed achieve this regardless of your environment.
