Now, what my friend Ruburt does not understand is very simple, people. For when my friend Ruburt looks at a person he sees a mind and he automatically grades it... A, B, C, D, E, F and if you fail the grade he washes his hands of you. His ego washes his hands. He is too intuitive, however, and, indeed, too good. So the inner self does not wash its hands, but his ego does not realize this most of the time. It does not want to play.

And I know that truth speaks to more than intellect, and there is a higher truth than intellectual truth, though intellectual truth is important and it can lead you in the right direction. But when I speak to you I speak to a part of you that the intellect does not know, and intellect can learn from that part of you to which I speak. In many cases intellectual truth follows intuitive truth. You know intuitively. Sometimes you must wait years for your intellect to catch up with what you know. And sometimes you must wait centuries.

Now I bid you welcome, I do not mean to put my good friend here too much on the griddle. I did it... I did it. You should use the intellect you have and the intuition that you have, but I sneak through the cracks. Where there are no doors I push through little cracks in your armor and in your wall. And through those cracks you find your own escape and your own freedom and your own ways to truth.

Knowledge does not exist without consciousness. There is no ideal knowledge that can be to given you that exists independently of consciousness. Consciousness knows. There is not an inert ideal thing called knowledge that you can drink up. I am a consciousness, and what you should know I try to tell you, and I try to teach you. But there are no records, despite any of your readings. There are no records, no bodies of knowledge that exist independently of consciousness. There are no records in the sky to be read. There are personalities who have knowledge that you do not yet realize you know. And they can tell you what they know to the best of their ability, as I do. And you learn in your own way, and you don’t learn in your own way.

I will not give you easy answers, for they will not serve you. I will give you the opportunity to ask the correct questions, for in the past you have not known enough to know what they are. I will not lead those who would follow me blindly. And all of you take that to heart. For in following blindly you learn nothing. I demand that you work. In your own way, and according to your own abilities. But that you use you own individual abilities, and learn how to handle them. And you will. And learn what they are, and you will. And work out the relationship that exists in your immediate families. And both of you will. And learn the significance—the meaning behind the fact that your daughter and your sister are approximately the same age, and you will. They choose that relationship.

And do not worrythat your friend Ruburt will overdo. Do not worry that he be led on, with questions, so that I speak. I look out for him. But I appreciate your concern. He is stronger than he looks. And so am I.

Intellectually you will understand the material, if you read it. I did not mean, earlier, to give the impression that I was poking fun at our friend’s intellect, only that you can at times prevent him from reaching out to others as he should. I need and needed an intellect through which I could work so that our basic principles could be understood by those who were intellectually inclined. And so that the scientist and mathematicians, the religious men, the philosophers, could find no fault with our reasoning. Through Ruburt’s books we can reach and help many individuals. But they will not be reached as I’m reaching those of you in this room.... Recording or no. Our friend Ruburt himself has not understood the meaning of our classes sufficiently. Nor the energy that exists here and that will reach beyond the confines of this room. Our friend over here (Theodore) has Ruburt’s back. It is not a barrier to him.
