.... your unity. And to feel your unity with All That Is—and know you are a part of it. You should have known that you could not escape my ceremony—and my ceremony is a ceremony of the skies and trees—and even of the grass. My ceremony is a ceremony that does not need ceremony —for it speaks through all seasons and it rises and it speaks through you. And as you sit here now so you have existed many times. And the ceremony is not new. Autumns and springs are not new. You sit here with new youth and new vitality—new, but ancient—for there is no newness that does not have an ancient heritage. You will walk down many alleyways and many front avenues, and so you have and so you will again, but in this life you will walk them together, as you knew you would. And you knew you would meet here and that I would speak to you here, and there is no beauty that you imagine that is not possible. The dreams that you have will come to pass but beware of the fears—for fears also come to pass—rip them out. The joys must be forever new—for they are new with an ancient heritage.
You must look into the face of vulnerability to find joy. You cannot find a joy unless you accept vulnerability. Even the gods know vulnerability—and that is why they live. And because I have known vulnerability, I am still alive. I give you then all the peace and joy that you can hold. But you cannot hold peace and joy like a stone in your hand. For it goes through you and out into others.
You need know—you need know nothing—you need know nothing in intellectual terms. You know all behind words, and in parts of you that are beyond speech. You do not need words. You do not need my words—but I speak them. I speak the words so you will realize you do not need them. And looking at you now, it is not that I see through you—it is that I see the yous that you do not realize you are. So lo—your joy and peace—and let it be with you in the old ways of these days, realizing that these days are always—and yet that there are more days than these, and other times and other places. And so peace and joy be with you in all days.
Now I bless you, but the blessings must come from yourselves. The real blessings must come from yourselves. You must realize that you are one with All That Is, and within you is the only one who can give blessings, and you must be willing to accept the blessing that only you can give, and the joy that only you can give to yourselves and to one another.

Spontaneity has its own discipline. You do not need to enforce discipline upon it. You need not enforce discipline upon it. Pretend that the bony tissue of your skulls does not exist. And let the energy of All That Is flow through you as indiscriminatelyas clouds through the skies. Do not say, “I will accept this and I will deny this.” The knowledge that is within yourselves knows. You do not have to fear the spontaneous. You do not need to fear that if you allow yourselves freedom you will travel into evil ways. Conscious restraints can lead you into avenues of denial. But the inner selves, knowing their position within All That Is, do not fear denial. What appears to you as evil is a result of your own ignorance. There is purpose in all things. In your spontaneity then, never forget the sacred uniqueness of a shadow upon a road, the shape of a leaf, the stain upon a coffee cup—in these simple things find a hint of your own uniqueness and travel beyond them—and ignore conscious restraint that would bind you. Let the inner intuitive sense speak for it is the inner voice, and the magic that unites you has no need of conscious words.

Now—there are also emotional equations—and you are involved in an emotional equation. There is no situation from which you must escape in your inner group. There is a change that you have set for yourself and you have set up your own equation—and those in the class who are in both groups have their own equations—and in solving the emotional equations, you end up with spiritual clues. There is nothing from which you have to escape. There are truths which you are trying to approach. There is nothing from which you have to hide. There are truths which you are trying to discover. The campfire is highly symbolic, and it has different meanings for all of you who experience it. This does not mean that the campfire is not real. It is very real. It has a reality as legitimate as this room—but not the same kind of reality. The qualities of the equation have highly subjective meanings, and they need not be the same meanings to each of you who are involved with them. And I am in both circles. So I am a common denominator. And I am a friendly common denominator. And when you hear me speak, it is not only my vitality that you hear, but it is also your own vitality—for I am also a part of All That Is—and if I am ancient and new, so are you ancient and new. And there are miracles in this room, and miracles in each and every room which you must learn to perceive. There are joys and vitalities within you which you do not perceive, that you must learn not to understand intellectually but to feel. And you think because I speak to you when you are here that I belong here. But I am a part of no particular room and no particular time and no particular place. And you are a part of no particular room and no particular time and no particular place. Now to others that you do not perceive, you are as magical, you are as nebulous as a shadow falling upon a floor in midafternoon. They do not perceive you. And as they may not see your magic and your consciousness, so there are other magic shadows and other realities that you think beneath you that you do not perceive. But All That Is is aware of each shadow. And knows that each shadow... (break because of end of tape.)
... realities that they know. And my reality transcends this room. Then so does your reality transcend this room. And if Ruburt has access to my reality and if my reality sings through him...then my vitality is but a hint of All That Is—and that tiny and insignificant echo of the reality of all that exists.

And then when you hear my voice, you hear your own. And when you feel my presence, you feel your own presence. And there is no need to hide from either. I want you to feel my words imprinted where you cannot take notes safely in a notebook. And I want you to question, but honest questions—not questions that are cover-ups for other questions. And when you have real questions, as you know, I answer them. And when they are not honest questions, I do not answer them. And I do not give you credit for easy answers. I do not give you multiple choices—I want essays. But my essays I want delivered from the inner portion of yourself—that is composed of intuition and intellect. And look up Lady of Florence—I will not let you settle for easy answers. And I will not let you settle for easy questions. And I will not give you easy answers. And I will not give you wonders. I will make you produce your own wonders. And you would not want it otherwise. And that is why we understand each other so well. You have known many who have offered you easy answers and answered your easy questions. But you do not like them as well as you like me.
