(Then I told her about the article I’d just taken from Science News last night, concerning the abilities of animals, birds and bees to carry maps of their terrain in their heads. [...]

(I remember also seeing an article not long ago on the migrations of the Monarch butterfly, but doubt if I’ll be able to locate that one easily.

[...] A lengthy article on Jane’s ESP book was published in the local Elmira Star-Gazette on July 6,1965. [...] The article however is involved with some of the following data.

(Just before the session Jane read an article in Fate magazine for December 1965, entitled Radiesthesia; Science of Tomorrow. Seth comments on the article.

Let me first make a few comments concerning the article which Ruburt has just finished reading.

(Here Seth refers to an article in the National Enquirer that has intrigued Jane considerably. [...]

(Note: Just as Jane had had this dream, I’d read an article in the Star-Gazette to the effect that a few blocks near downtown Elmira, including the apartment house we’d lived in at 458 W. Water Street, had been designated a Historical Preservation Area by New York State. I meant to save the article, but forgot to. [...]

(I also thought the call might force a change in what I tell correspondents — but then, with the information about us that I furnished for Maude Cardwell’s article in Reality Change, what would be the point of changing my response to the mail? [...]

[...] It turned out that the Helen Park who had written had read Maude’s article in Reality Change, and sent the check to Sue to forward to us, to make sure we’d get it safely. [...]

(Before tonight’s session I read an article, “Instant Electorate,” in PlayboyMagazine for November 1968. [...]

(The article led me to wonder why we behaved as we did, as a species, with seemingly little change throughout recorded history; I wondered what purposes, what real sense, lay behind our attitudes and actions, etc; Jane and I had a little discussion about it.

(The article about the psychologist creating his own reality, featuring his own mental deterioration, is in the latest issue of Human Nature magazine—November 1978. [...]

(I suppose the two-part article marks the end of our involvement with the media, though this opinion may change. [...]

Ideas are used in astounding fashions by creative people, and so many who read the article will in their own way use it as highly creative material. [...]

[...] It contains a long article about a Philippine psychic surgeon who is being brought to this country next fall, when he is to operate on patients with surgeons and others as witnesses. The article goes into detail about the scientists who have watched the psychic surgeon operate at his home in the Philippines, and about the surgeon’s home and “operating room,” which is but a shack containing a crude wooden-slatted table. (As mentioned in the notes for the 232nd session, page 269, Fate Magazine wrote Jane concerning an article on the envelope experiments. She has now written the first draft for the article. We suppose Seth’s rather cryptic note above means the article will sell if Jane sticks to the way she has planned.

There was some question in the article about long-term and short-term memory. [...]

One day while we were still up to our necks in tests, I saw an Associated Press article that really surprised me. [...] The article also gave details concerning his academic research in the field of parapsychology.

One day I met Mrs. Brian, a former student who dropped out of class due to illness, who told me she had read a newspaper article about this present book that appeared in the local paper. [...] Mrs. Brian had a terrific headache while reading the article; suddenly she thought she felt Seth’s presence. [...]

(At suppertime tonight we read a newspaper article about a 27-year-old man from Philadelphia who’d committed suicide in our area by having himself decapitated by a railroad train. Jane said the first thing she thought of when she read the article was that the stranger might have been on his way to see her for help. [...]
