[...] In greater terms you chose both life and death, and the picture of you at the age of 16⁹ was never taken in one reality.

At the age of 25, however, (nine years before the beginning of the sessions), Jane expressed an intuitive grasp of the moment point in these lines of her poem, More Than Men:

[...] More than once Jane has asked me what I’d have thought at that age had I been aware that my wife-to-be was a “round-faced little kid, still playing with paper dolls….”

In others, however, the old were honored for the wisdom that they had accumulated with age, and this became very practical in tribes where many did not survive. [...]

[...] Ages ago, humans not only watched the animals, but went to them for help. [...]

[...] In a dream you may experience say, an episode in which you are involved with adventures that last for years, and when you wake up you have not aged for (4?) years. [...]

You are children of being that you do not understand or comprehend and so parables have been told you through the ages. [...]

[...] It also represented the water or fountainhead of spiritual creativity so that both ages merged and you felt that this had been drawn out from you in order to keep you contented within this artificial framework. [...]

Now the red hoods had a peculiar significance, subconsciously speaking, to you because the red subconsciously meant violence and the idea in the back of your mind that religions through the ages have often resulted in violence and also Cardinals, you see, wear red hats at times. [...]

You are involved with some of your counterparts more or less directly, while others live in different lands, and are sometimes separated also in terms of age differences or culture — qualities with which you would find it difficult to relate.⁵ Intuitively, you know who the counterparts are in your daily experience. 5. Seth has already referred to counterpart relationships at the extremes of distance, and, to a lesser extent, in terms of age and cultural differences. [...]

“As Seth has noted before — and as we feel, I think — there are distinct connections between Peter and me and Rob and Jane, in terms of age differences, creative abilities, belief patterns, et cetera. [...]

“Matter of itself, however, is no more continuous, no more given to growth or age than is, say, the color yellow.”

Now: Churchmen of the Middle Ages could draw diagrams of various portions of the human body that were afflicted as the result of indulging in particular sins. [...]

At the same time you think, for several reasons, that at your age you should have a house, privacy to work, a way even of proving to your brothers that you have as much as they. [...]
