(The last two regularly scheduled sessions due, for Wednesday, August 17 and Monday, August 22, were not held because of my own illness.

[...] Within I believe three years there will be a much closer and significant relationship between the two families.

[...] At first she could remember nothing except the last sentence or two she had delivered; then bits of the material began to return. [...]

So last night, less than two days after she’d held her last session, I asked Jane for some material about the central theme of her days in the hospital, both from her own viewpoint and that of the doctors who probed, examined, and discussed her and her problems. [...]

My condition had certain drawbacks, however: The two sides of my body were uneven, so I could end up with four bright new metal and plastic joints and still not be able to walk properly. [...]

[...] “Sure, for one joint, or two, maybe,” I said, then shut up, not wanting to add my own fears to her fears. [...]

[...] Tell Ruburt that if he continues in this manner, and if the two of you can manage to maintain your peace of mind long enough—over a two or three day period, for example, then you can expect rewards in all areas. [...]

(As Jane moved about, I wrote out my two questions for Seth — while thinking of a third:

(“1. What do you think about this work being published in two volumes?

([Bette:] “During break Jane stood here talking to Dee  and as I stood and watched these two, Jane all of a sudden was a very little girl looking up at this man and the man was trying desperately to get Jane to say that she was sorry for something that she had done, and Jane would not say this. The conversation had absolutely nothing to do with what my thoughts or what I was picking up on these two. [...]

[...] The heading that you asked about is for Part Two of the book (“Your Body as Your Own Unique Living Sculpture,” etc., given in the 637th session in Chapter Nine). The heading referring to the soul in chemical clothes is for the next chapter (Ten), which is the first chapter in Part Two.

(After the last session, I told Jane that I was most intrigued by Seth’s assigning two headings to Chapter Ten, but the dilemma was hardly very complicated.)

[...] Immediately after the two experiences that Seth describes in this session, involving the rain creature and the light, I added this section to Dialogues:

(Jane got two more bits as we talked: The creative self had to disentangle itself from the conscientious self to get this material out; and she had ambiguous feelings about her books because she felt they put me in a poor light. [...]

(The two instances cited here actually represent good improvements on Jane’s part, in that she allowed me to learn what was involved. [...]

The two who were here this evening, and their friend called Ann, these three are capable of developing in ways that were denied them in their earlier years, mainly because of their environments. [...]

[...] In the word an l, and I believe two E’s, perhaps a double E. The name seems to conjure up an image that is distantly connected—underline distantly—with an animal. [...]

(We haven’t used the Ouija board for perhaps two years. [...]

(My brother William, who lives in Rochester, New York, is driving down to take mother back home with him for a week or two, on November 9. We received a letter from him to this effect yesterday. [...]

This would not be involved particularly were it not for the fact of two subsidiary current beliefs that conflict, having to do with the weekend. [...] And two, that you should have been here, reaching out to the world at large through your painting.

So one of the most hampering beliefs of all, as earlier mentioned (in the 614th session in Chapter Two, for instance), is the idea that the clues to current behavior are buried and usually inaccessible. [...]

(Two similarities between this time and last time: Although other people weren’t present as they were before, tonight Jane and I were discussing others; and I was also sipping wine [again my first small glass] like before.)

(Pause at 11:36 PM.) He (Ruburt) is beginning to stand on his own two feet again, to accept his vision of the world and his own nature.

[...] Two weeks after it was finished, however, Seth dictated the outline for this present manuscript, in which he would be free to state his ideas in his own way, in book form.

The next chapter will relate what experience I have had in all my existences with those “pyramid gestalts” of which I speak in the material, and about my own relationship with the personality you call Seth Two, and with multidimensional consciousnesses far more evolved than I.
