In our next Seth session, the 583rd, April 21, 1971, Seth took out time from his book dictation to mention Rob’s experience.

[...] Seth stood in the doorway, looking as he does in Rob’s painting of him. [...]

[...] Seth stood smiling, then gestured and we followed him. [...]

[...] His abilities have developed along the lines of psychic-vision, as explained in The Seth Material. His projections have been infrequent, and he never gained conscious awareness of any from the sleep state until this one. [...]

(Neither of us had questions for Seth in particular. [...] Jane said we could have “just a question-and-answer Seth book”—one made up of just those ingredients, without the formal session format. [...]

(“Good evening, Seth.”)

(“Thank you, Seth. [...]

(“Good evening, Seth.”)

[...] “Seth was doing it slow so that I got it right,” Jane said. [...]

(I wasn’t sure whether Seth had said a red, or bed, pillow.)

(“Good night, Seth.”

[...] This time her Seth voice was even more forceful and confident, and she took fewer pauses. [...]

[...] To some extent your own do-it-yourself attitudes kept you from such experience, and as long as Ruburt lacked it, and as long as you lacked it (with much more emphasis than I’d heard Jane use as Seth in a long time), you would both still have doubts about the nature of our own work as applied to such matters—and this goes beyond the confines of our work in ways I will try to clear later. [...]

[...] I explained that I’d included material in my intro for Dreams that echoed Seth’s comments here as to why we became involved in the medical arena. [...]

(In the 358th Session Seth stated; “There are difficulties for Ruburt’s associate of last year at the center,” meaning Nancy Methinitus. [...] Today by telephone Nancy verified Seth, in that her mother is seriously ill at Mayo Clinic; the mother has been ill for some time, but was not, for instance, the last time Jane talked to Nancy, sometime prior to the 358th Session. [...]

[...] Jane was well dissociated, retaining little memory of what Seth said. [...]

[...] In a moment Jane went back into trance for Seth’s amused comment:)

(After the session, Jane said she had no idea offhand just what material is on those particular pages of the Seth manuscript. [...]

(Seth talked about this duality as long ago as the 25th session, in Volume 1.)

[...] I tried to remember what Seth had said, and follow the feelings through so I wouldn’t repress any of them....” [...]

[...] I’d still like some material from Seth on why the personality would choose to go to such lengths in the name of self- protection.... [...]

(It goes without saying that we hoped Seth would go into the whole experience of early this morning, since it represented such a good improvement in her effort toward self-understanding. [...]

[...] It seems hard to believe that only a week has passed since we asked Seth to begin this latest series. [...]

[...] We sat for it as usual, but became involved watching the last episode of a television mini-series about events growing out of the Watergate break-in.² While we followed the drama, Jane reported to me a steady flow of comments about it from Seth. [...]

[...] “I’m getting great bursts of stuff from Seth about all kinds of things….” [...]

[...] Now Seth began some material on other matters, then ended the session at 9:19 P.M.

[...] “I think it started with Seth, but then I went into another altered state of my own, like the time I got that dream material at the kitchen table — when was that, last March?” [See the 844th session for April 1.]

[...] Tonight I asked Jane if Seth would discuss the Instream object that ordinarily would have been named Monday.

[...] I explained it to Jane at break and hoped Seth would comment as to any clairvoyant elements in the dream.

(Seth’s material on page 204 agreed with what I had learned myself by using the pendulum, both today and earlier in the week. [...]

[...] Also included is one excerpt by Seth about Jane’s talents with a similar kind of experience.

[...] Jane usually wrote several drafts for her “own” books, but spoke her books by Seth in final draft form.

Wednesday night after the Seth session, before bed, I suddenly began to wonder if the paintings Rob had sold to Lib’s Supper Club, back in the 60s, were still there.

[...] And how Seth’s sessions of last August seem to apply newly to today’s events. [...]

[...] Since Seth has dealt with dreams to some extent Jane and I have a somewhat different slant on sleep and dreaming, and what is involved.

(I had planned to ask Seth a few questions at the end of the session. [...]

[...] I believe that above Seth refers to the first three named sessions. [...]

(After a brief discussion on changing and giving up religious beliefs, Seth explained:)

Do not feel guilty about not following all that Seth says. [...]

[...] (On Seth’s book.) Have Ruburt mention the book copies in class. [...]

[...] Jane sat quiet briefly, still in trance, then resumed dictation on Seth’s book.

[...] Seth created it as an adjective for plastic.)

(Jane had engaged in her spontaneous actions re 458 in response to Seth’s suggestions in the last session—that she imagine others complementing her on how well she was doing, and so forth. [...]

[...] I was also curious to get some material from Seth on child prodigies, relevant to an atticle I’d just read at the house. [...]

(Jane had no idea of what Seth would discuss during the session. [...]

(Jane has decided to use the passages on unlimited human potentialities, given by Seth in the last session, to close out her ESP book.
