“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Jane read fairly well, and held several of the pages of the session in the same manner. In 329 on the other side of the bathroom we could hear Christina through two doors, singing in Russian and English. “She sounds like a dirge,” I said, yet when I’d been in the john and could hear her better. I’d detected a distinctly childlike feeling in her singing, of a woman who is over 90 years old.

(Now Christina was sounding off in jumbled English and Russian, singing bits and pieces of Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday, Georgia, and so forth. I worked on mail and watched parts of a football game and an old Humphrey Bogart movie until Jane said she’d have a short session. Now Christine was bothering me a little.)

(After turning Jane and massaging her with Oil of Olay, I took my usual nap. Just before I did Margaret Bumbalo called and invited me for supper. Jane was eating supper when Peg and Bill Gallagher visited between 6:05 and 6:16 or so. Bill noticed that Jane had put on some weight. He went next door and said hello to Christina in Russian. She was delighted—she kissed his hand.

[...] Lynn thinks Karina is disoriented, although some of the doctors don’t. We speculated as to why Karina has never learned any language other than Russian. Lynn said the hospital even has a list of Russian words, but that Karina doesn’t respond adequately to them — perhaps they’re poorly pronounced, say.

(“How about saying something about Karina?” I’d heard the Russian lady sounding off a few times this afternoon during the session.)

[...] At lunch time Alexandra, the Russian cleaning lady I made friends with in rehab, was in Christina’s room speaking Russian with her. [...]

Many people who use drugs socially are playing a kind of psychological Russian roulette. [...]

[...] I am not saying that drugs alone will cause suicide, but that the psychology of drugs already includes an attitude that promotes a Russian-roulette kind of mentality, that can only add to the problem.

[...] We heard Christine, the 90-year-old Russian lady, calling out as she had yesterday. [...]

(I had to ask Jane to repeat what she said because the Russian patient in the room next door, Karina, was yelling out in the hall, as she has been all afternoon. [...]

[...] Among the agencies chosen, of course, are the FBI, the CIA, the Russian Secret Police, the Ku Klux Klan, or any controversial group given to acts of violence for whatever purposes.

[...] It was the Russian lady, Christina, who’s over 90. [...]

(Which reminds me that after she left us, Susie went next door to tease at Christina, but for some reason Christina didn’t respond with her own Russian mixture of unintelligible cries and pleadings for Georgia.

It’s quite clear, of course, that the nations of the West, including that “Great Satan,” the United States, are, with Japan, keeping the fanatical Iranian mullahs (Moslem religious teachers) in power, so that their country will not be taken over by the Tudeh, Iran’s Communist Party; that most unwelcome development could place Iran under Russian domination. [...] In the grimmest of political realities, our side is using Iran to block Russian expansion into the Middle East, and is using Iraq to block Iranian domination of its other, weaker oil-producing neighbors. [...]

Just as the native mujahedin—resistance fighters—of Afghanistan consider it their religious duty to battle the Russian invaders (even while thousands of their countrymen take refuge in Pakistan to the east and in Iran to the west), so do the Iranian fundamentalists think it their religious duty to export their revolution until an Islamic empire extends from the Mediterranean to the Persian Gulf.
