For the terms of this discussion of the beginning of [your] world, I will deal with known qualities for now—the atoms and molecules. [...]

Now because All That Is contains within itself such omnipotent, fertile, divine creative characteristics, all portions of its subjective experience attained dimensions of actuality impossible to describe. [...]

[...] In deeper terms, however, that purpose is also known now, and to one extent or another the entire universe dreams of it, as once cellular consciousness dreamed of the organs that it might “form.”

We will for now, however, confine ourselves to a discussion of consciousness in the beginning of the world, stressing that the first basis of physical life was largely subjective, and that the state of dreaming not only helped shape the consciousness of your species, but also in those terms served to provide a steady source of information to man about his physical environment, and served as an inner web of communication among all species. (Pause.) Your spontaneous selves in that area, relatively speaking, now, (underlined twice) were allowed their expressions. [...]

(Long pause.) Now, regardless of many objections to the contrary, Ruburt’s condition still has served your own ends as well as his—and into the present. [...] They also reflected—to some degree, now—your own perhaps more subsidiary beliefs that it was not safe to relax, or that spontaneity might lead to further uncertainties. [...]

Now: within a fairly regular (pause) framework of habits and range of activity, you have both actually chosen a course that is in many ways uncertain, irregular, unpredictable. [...]

[...] Now in matters of personal health, this is bound to add to the uncertainty: you are trying to live your lives according to new rules that are as yet not completely given, so to that extent it is somewhat natural that Ruburt and you become at times uneasy, wonder at times about the personal material, wonder if it is distorted in those areas, or whatever—and there are no known ways to check such material—the material itself is that original. [...]

[...] Now because of these uncertainties—financial, creative, and psychic—other certainties become highly important, as a framework for such seeming unpredictability. [...]

[...] We haven’t used the vitamins, or cod liver oil, for several days now, and as usual I feel a sense of frustration over this, coupled with an unsureness as to whether any such routine should be too rigidly adhered to. [...]

[...] Ruburt should shortly be able to find himself moving quite a bit more quickly than now, and some of that motion is already being released and expressed, whether or not it has sufficiently caught your notice. [...]

Now in answer to Ruburt’s question: The birth will occur at the time given; by the time given (the year 2075). [...]

[...] During those years Marie was in her late 20’s and early 30’s, and already incapacitated by arthritis; and, to quote Seth from a session held in 1964, she had “… often spoken vehemently of Ruburt’s birth being a source of disease, and pain, that is of her arthritis … If Ruburt’s mother had it to do over, she would not have the child — and the child hidden within the adult still feels that the mother actually has the power, even now, to force the child back into the womb and refuse to deliver it …”

Now: Dictation … Each probability system has its own set of “blueprints,” clearly defining its freedoms and boundaries, and setting forth the most favorable structures capable of fulfillment.

Give us a moment … Man is himself made as much of God-stuff as earth-stuff, so in those terms now the god in himself yearned toward the man in the god, and earth experience. [...]

It is the present personality’s desire to express himself, opposed by the subconscious memories of that past life, with its fear of the effects of eloquence used without discretion, that now cause his difficulty.

Now Ruburt’s paper was largely correct, in that Christianity in general, and the Catholic Church in particular, has not only frowned on revelation, but in the past tried with the utmost effort to strike it down. [...]

Now God at the last moment might stay your hand—but then he might not. [...]

[...] Yet as the approach of the scientific age appeared, before its blossoming, so new tendencies are now showing that do indeed signal a new era, in which the emotions and intellect are no longer regarded as opposing tendencies in man.

Ruburt is not myself now, in his present life. [...] He is now a personality that was one of the probable personalities¹⁴ into which Seth could grow. [...]

(Now I’ll refer the reader to Chapter 20 of Jane’s The Seth Material. [...] “We [Rob and I] both know that some sessions seem more ‘immediate’ than others, and now as Seth continued we saw why,” Jane wrote in Chapter 20. [...]

As I have told you, projection is involved to some extent, both on my part and Ruburt’s. Your (Rob’s) own presence is also important, whether or not you are present at any given session … Now when you watch, say, educational television, you see the teacher, and he speaks. [...] But the teacher exists whether or not he is speaking at that time, and his message is legitimate … It makes no difference whether or not I am myself speaking through Ruburt now, or whether I did this last night in his sleep, and tonight is a film or playback. Now it’s suspected that, in many cases at least, some of the fundamental laws of nature aren’t directly available to us — that often our world presents to us only an approximate representation of its basic qualities. [...] We are now told that simplicity is the thing.

Now: Give us a moment … We are speaking quietly to keep Ruburt in a particular state — but (humorously, leaning forward), we will not whisper.

Physically, Ruburt’s improvements will now begin to show more quickly. [...]
