“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

We borrowed the Ouija board from our landlord in the fall of 1963, when by chance he mentioned that he’d bought one but had never obtained any results with it. [...]

Again, this is no reason to feel that the individual is nothing, simply because he is one of so many. [...]

[...] The individual self will expand, as the individual man will be capable of expanding when the old idea of nationalism is finally overthrown, and he can be benefited through learning of, and cooperation with, other men as brothers upon your planet.

(Jane said she believes Seth is using these experiences, within the experience of the session itself, as a compensation for the psychological time experiments he has requested her to abandon for a while. [...]

Now I tell you that while the perceiver is changed by what he perceives, he also changes that which is perceived. [...]

[...] I said I thought it was a contact session, as Seth calls them, meaning that he was present with us at this time, rather than having given Jane the material earlier. [...]

[...] “I’ve got the feeling he likes that last family,” Jane said as soon as she was out of trance, then added, laughing: “I’ve got the feeling he likes them as well as Sumari. [...]

[...] He had his office downstairs and he often worked at home. [...]

[...] His statements just before break that he did so are distortions on Jane’s part, I would say, while speaking for him tonight; even in trance, her memory could have been in error — or she could have been touching upon another probable reality. [...] He discussed the whole affair in the 65th session for Sunday, June 28, 1964, using passages like: “I am certainly not going to make any decisions for you. [...]

An artist expects his paintings to be good — or, if you will forgive a jingle: at least he should. [...]

[...] (Pause, one of many.) Ruburt need not worry that he has missed a few regular sessions. He has been exercising spontaneity, and paradoxically enough it is upon spontaneity that the regularity of our sessions depends. [...]

(Pause.) He is doing well with the book. [...]

[...] He has been participating in his library, for example, whether or not he is always aware of it.

2. Jane and I plan to eventually ask Seth to explain to us, in ways that will let us at least approach an understanding of them, some of those other realities in which he exists and “speaks.”

[...] But constant questions of such a nature do not help an individual who is having difficulties — and in fact too frequent expressions of compassion can also worsen a person’s state of mind, stressing the idea that he or she must be very ill indeed to attract such feelings of compassion. [...]

Ruburt’s dream was excellent, showing that he is now making the best of his past, rediscovering playful beliefs — the trinkets — and sources of pleasure and activity. [...]

[...] “And he’s got even more, but it’s getting late and the supper tray will be here and you have to turn me and stuff …” I could tell she was able to continue. “I think he was also answering some of the points that psychologist made in his letter,” she said. [...]

[...] It is an excellent idea for Ruburt to mention such instances of negative suggestion to you, as he did today. [...] He did well in countering them today—and each such victory frees him even further from such hogwash. [...]

[...] He is getting new glasses and new frames that are in style with the times, and he will not want me to toss them across the room like that (tosses glasses). [...]

[...] He ended up in severe difficulties, caught in some smuggling business to the Spanish.

[...] “I knew he was doing that,” Jane said, then added that she just went along with it. [...]

She quotes Seth on dreams in Chapter 14 of The Seth Material, and to some extent he discusses them directly in Seth Speaks and Personal Reality. [...]

2. I’d say that when he talks about the “unused portions of the brain,” that physical organ, Seth means qualities of nonphysical mind as well. [...]

[...] Yet he too acquiesced to Jane’s death when she made her decision to go. [...]

[...] I tried, but could not cry as he spoke: “Loving and merciful God, we entrust our sister to you. [...]

(Now here is the reply Roger wrote to Jane on December 21, 1968, after he’d studied sessions 449 and 450. [...]

[...] He has done well, and you have helped him in the important matter of keeping his spirits up in the meantime. [...]

[...] Seth returned to deliver a page of material in which he briefly discussed Jane’s own work with beliefs, her poetry, and her latest ideas about her psychic abilities; from there he went into our relationship with each other and with our parents.

[...] In physical terms it is completed when he puts down his brush — at least for him, though its effects continue. [...]

(Assembling all of these elements into a psychological whole, he declared that “the sessions, among other things, were generated by your own experiences as creatures, and your desires to look for personal answers — but more basically, to seek out the answers [asked for] by all of your race.” [...]

[...] In the 152nd session he stated: “The whole self of which Ruburt is a part is an extremely elastic one. [...] Through one of these, Seth added in a very simplified explanation, he could enter within the limits of Jane’s “psychic comprehension.”

[...] Your spouse may then find you exhibiting characteristics of a most pleasant nature, and he himself may change.

[...] Indeed, I often saw the former with a clearer vision, but my early training and work as a commercial artist, beginning in New York City in 1939, conditioned me to believe that the artist was supposed to deal only with what he could “see” objectively.

(The scientist in question may never answer my letter, but it’s already had one unexpected beneficial effect: Tonight, after he finished book dictation, Seth gave an excellent summation of his own version of what our species like to call evolution. [...]

[...] Most of you understand that All That Is is within you, that God is within creation, within physical matter, and that “He” does not simply operate as some cosmic director on the outside of reality. [...]

[...] The only thing I could feel was that he was trying to find analogies to make clear that section about evolution. [...]

[...] That is, if he would pay any attention to it to begin with.”

Man explored the physical world in the dreaming state long before he explored it physically. [...]

[...] Or he might be given knowledge as to how the herbs could best be used for healing purposes. [...]

[...] The discoveries and inventions that made the industrial world possible were always latent in man’s mind, and represented an inner glittering landscape of probability that he brought into actualization through the use of dreams—the intuitive and the conscious manipulation of material that was at one time latent.
