“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(This afternoon I had delivered to our landlord’s supper club, here in Elmira, four large oil paintings which we mounted on the club walls. Our landlord had just finished redecorating his establishment, and wanted some original art for it. I plan to use his rather spacious walls as a hanging space for my work, rotating the exhibits periodically.

(Jane expressed a desire to see the work in place, so when I picked her up at the gallery we stopped off at the club to see it, where Jane made the impromptu remark that she wanted Seth to call off the session, so we could attend the opening of the club this evening.

(End at 9:07. Jane was dissociated as usual. She reported that while delivering the material she had a timeless feeling that belied the little actual clock time that had passed. She had thought it to be about 9:30 or so. Jane also said she felt somewhat put out, or “pulled up short” at the short session, although earlier this evening she had expressed the wish for either a short session, or none at all, so we could attend the opening of the supper club operated by our landlord.)

[...] Jane knew my father had belonged to the Lions Club. She did not know Dr. Martin was also a member, or that my father had been secretary of the club, and consequently handled money in the form of dues. I remember the big book my father used to keep the record of the club members’ dues, etc. In fact, my father and Dr. Martin were charter members of the Sayre Lions Club, initiated many years ago.

[...] My father, Jane said, had to go to a meeting of an organization like the Lions Club. [...]

[...] Could this be a night club act? [...]

[...] If you do not meet face-to-face with people, for example, in clubs or organizations, you communicate with a far greater number, each of you, and jointly. [...]

(The experience: Jimmy operates a supper club in Elmira, which Jane and I visit frequently. [...] With him he also had some fresh tomatoes, and with these he stopped at his mother’s home while on his way back to the club.

Wednesday night after the Seth session, before bed, I suddenly began to wonder if the paintings Rob had sold to Lib’s Supper Club, back in the 60s, were still there.

[...] In a lull of conversation, Peg G. leaned forward and said: “I was at Lib’s Supper Club, and your paintings are still there,” or other words to that effect, mentioning both Lib’s and the paintings.

[...] Purposefully in your own life, in your daily dialogues with others, in your relationships through your groups or clubs, reinforce as well as you can the strength and abilities of others.

[...] He has been using the idea of the contract as a club, and this is why he has been so sensitive about it. [...]

If you can, find a photograph of yourself as a member of a class — a graduation picture, perhaps, or a photograph of club members. [...]

[...] Most people, as I mentioned, experience their contacts with the world through many prepared structures—that of church, community, clubs, professional organizations, family affiliations, academic affiliations—and these frameworks serve automatically to cushion such contact, and in a way, while permitting contact with the world, also blunting it to some extent.
