(The validity of Dr. [Gilbert] Holloway’s advice for Brad was being discussed when Seth interjected the following.

([Brad:] “This is true of problem-solving also, is it not?”)

You think of yourself (to Brad) as a “closed physical personality”—weak and helpless—in a world that you do not understand. You do not realize that you have as much energy available to you now as Ruburt is now showing or as this voice now shows.

([Brad:] “But the proper direction of the energy is the important thing, is it not?”)

(The first part of the class session was devoted to the playback of a counseling interview Brad had with Dr. Gilbert Holloway. [...]

([Brad:] “I would like that.”)

([Brad:] “I guess I am inclined to be a follower...”)

([Brad:] “I no longer have the confidence in my wisdom.”)

(Attending were Sally, Rose, Rachel, Amelia and Brad.)

[...] I wanted to tell you that symbolically, you (Brad) are winning, you are making adjustments, in more than weight. [...]

[...] I am speaking to you now since you have set yourself (Brad) some problems. [...]

[...] Now you follow them but you (Rose) will not remember; and you (Sally) follow them sometimes; and you (Rachel) follow them sometimes; and you (Amelia) are beginning to put one foot upon the path; and you (Brad) have not as yet allowed yourself to remember any of your dream encounters. [...]

(To Brad:) Now, your conscious thought patterns and your subconscious thought patterns are the same. [...]

([Brad:] “A problem is a negative thing. [...]

([Brad:] “I heard a doctor speaking of anger and anxiety leading to the destruction of human cells.”)

(Brad—asking about positive attitudes in terms of his own problems.)

[...] We will try to have a session for you (Brad), our friend Brad the Bull, shortly—and clear up some of your difficulties—for some of them are because you are bull-headed. [...]

(To Brad:) Now I am sitting here for my portrait. [...]

[...] And our friend Ruburt is quite correct, you (Brad) learn the nature of the inner self first—and then we shall help you in the development of your own abilities. [...]

([Brad:] “I will bring you some last week [sic].”)

(The above was addressed to Brad. Brad’s recorder failed to record a part of the above, and in ascertaining what portion was missed, a short burst of singing emanated from the recorder’s previously used tape. [...]

[...] I simply wanted you to know that I was here and I did have a specific message that I wanted to deliver to our friend (Brad) on this side. And if you do not have the words recorded, they are recorded there (pointing to Brad’s head) and you will not forget them. [...]

(Brad’s Note: the first few words [by Seth] were not recorded.)

[...] And you (to Brad) are looking for others to tell you what to do. [...]

You close the door to your own strength when you look for it in another (to Brad). [...]

[...] And may I ask you (Brad) in all seriousness, dear friend, who—who do you think you are to refuse to use the strength which has been given to you. [...]

[...] By all means now—(to Brad) give me a summary!Iam always interested in how much you remember of what I say at least on a conscious level. [...] Are you (toBrad) going to cease looking for answers from the outside? [...]

([Brad:] “Is he a hard taskmaster?”)

([Brad:] “I have one question. [...]

([Brad:] “I deserved that.”)

([Brad:] “We all instruct others?”)

(To Brad) And where is my brandy? [...]

(Brad said that he had brought it but he had not drunk it during a previous class.)

(Brad replied that he would arrange to have brandy on hand every class night, and a cigar!)

[...] Brad stated his desire that Seth would more explicitly set forth the steps which we should follow. [...]

(Brad) You have no idea of the discovery that is possible for you. [...]

(To Brad.) In the last portion of my talk, in the very last portion, I was speaking directly to you. [...]

(To Brad.) I have a few remarks to our friend with the sideburns over there, and the changed image in the orange shirt, and it is this. [...]

(To Brad.) Our orange shirt over there, you have progressed more than you realize that you have, and being away from class during this time has done you good. [...]

(To Brad.) And in other probable realities you are doing very well. [...]

(Brad remarked it had also helped him while he was taping and typing the sessions.)
