(In any event, through our conversation before the session, we felt sure that Seth knew what we’d like him to discuss tonight.)
[...] As of now we have so far mailed the letter to Eleanor re Rich Bed; phoned the ad about a house in to the Elmira paper; obtained the paint for Jane’s workroom; put up new curtains in her room; begun inquiries about the duplication of the letter for readers who write to Jane; packaged the first six chapters of Seth’s book to mail to Tam at Prentice-Hall tomorrow; begun to check the galleys for Oversoul Seven—all of these being items on the list we made out a couple of days ago. (For the record: This last material may have come through because I got angry yesterday when I discovered that Prentice-Hall had run a two-page ad in the NY Times Book Section, for Sunday, December 2, without mentioning any of the Seth books. Tam has recently told Jane that the Seth books outsell all P/H’s books except the Ozzie Nelson. So the Nelson book was pictured in the ad, along with a lot of others, but nary a Seth book.)

Jane rather angrily cut Seth off, feeling this is a problem we must handle ourselves.
