“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

[...] Seth came through briefly several times, and very humorously, to handle certain questions himself. Among other things, he said that “there is no place for the Seth material to be kept,” that “you have to make a place for it, for it is unique.” [...] Seth did express his own willingness to have the material available to the public, but Jane and I are much less sure of that.

(In the last three days I’ve learned a number of interesting things about my continuing physical upsets—and will list some of my pendulum material should any portion of this session refer to them. [...] My own insights through the pendulum tell me, for example, why Seth in that last private session said I have a “nervous stomach,” but nothing about the other hassles like, say, the side or groin. [...]

[...] I believed Jane-Seth’s material about my being on a “body vacation.” [...]

(Last night April 23, Monday, Rob suddenly got super-relaxed and really floppy before our scheduled Seth session. In the meantime though as I went into the john, I started to pick up some of the things Seth was going to discuss, and after Rob began his odd relaxation, I got more. [...]

[...] I told her that I got mad this morning because I felt that the Seth material wasn’t — and wouldn’t — get the hearing it deserved in our society. I asked why the material, if it was inherent within human beings, was so much ignored. [...]

(First is my dream of the night before, which I described to Jane in case she had a session and Seth wanted to comment. [...]

[...] The woman who sent it wanted Jane to write the founder of a Seth group in Syracuse; the lady is dying of cancer. [...]

(Jane’s Seth voice was a bit stronger today.)

(Readers of The Seth Material had asked Seth to elaborate upon data of the three Christs given in Chapter Eighteen, “The God Concept,” of that book. [...]

(Of course, we hadn’t known just how Seth was going to present his material in the chapter on religion on the third Christ and related data. [...]

(In the 586th session, earlier in this chapter, Seth stated that by the year 2075 the third Christ — Paul or Saul — would have enacted the Second Coming, exerting of course a profound effect upon religion and world history. [...] She wanted me to ask Seth if she had distorted this data while delivering it.

(I was finding Seth’s information intensely interesting. It was unavoidable in many cases, but Jane said she much preferred not to know anything about the historical period Seth would be discussing. [...]

[...] He had arrived yesterday to spend the weekend with us and to discuss the book Jane is doing on the Seth material. [...]

[...] Tam Mossman said: “Seth was certainly into my imaginative life; also, he has me pegged psychologically.” Tam said Seth’s data about his inner life was “especially true.” He also cited similarities between his doodles and the crest decoration Seth described.

[...] She was very relaxed at break, and told us that Seth was keeping her half under so as to make her resumption as Seth easier; she could reach trance depth quicker.

(Seth did speak briefly the next evening however. [...] Seth greeted us, gave a few voice effects which were controlled because of the hour and the proximity of other tenants, and expressed his willingness and capability to continue until six in the morning. [...]

[...] The material says I have cancer too.” Meaning the Seth material, of course. [...]

[...] Jane was once again far-out, losing track of the content of the material. We had barely begun to discuss the dream material when she abruptly began dictating again while sitting across from me at the table. [...]

[...] In the dream Ruburt said the material told him that he had cancer, because in a previous life he did have clairvoyant knowledge, through his psychic ability, of his future disease; and since his psychic ability has only lately come to light with this material, you can see the connection.

[...] Jane’s friend Dee Masters, who had once been director at the gallery where Jane works, and who has been dealt with by Seth at various times, was doing something at an agitator-type washing machine. [...]

I wasn’t about to close off the Seth material until I made up my mind, though. [...] Suppose I stopped having the sessions while I tried to figure things out, then decided that Seth was right on all counts — and found I just couldn’t have sessions again? [...]

[...] Either that, or Seth and the material — still so strange to me — were giving answers that I refused, so far, to accept in practical terms.

One night Rob asked Seth about it, and Seth said,

Both of us had been wondering about the crisis Seth had mentioned for Miss Cunningham on April 15. As it happened a regular session night fell on that date, and, having heard nothing, Rob asked Seth if there had been any distortion in the message.

1. In larger terms Seth’s ideas as to what the “whole self” is take in a great deal — with reincarnation and probable personalities, for instance, being only two of the concepts involved. [...] See both The Seth Material and Seth Speaks.

[...] During our drive back to Elmira this morning Jane said, “Somebody’s working on Seth’s book, I can tell you that. [...]

(“Good evening, Seth.”)

2. A reminder: Seth usually calls Jane by her male entity name, Ruburt — and thus “he,” “him,” etc.

(Seth’s delivery, only partly quoted here, was very forceful. It will help the reader to refer back to the 724th session itself in order to correlate Seth’s material given there with this class session, and with other data on reincarnation and counterparts.

11. It’s of interest here to note that although he referred to my three Roman-officer perceptions of last October in the 721st session (which itself was held a month after I’d experienced them), Seth didn’t mention that I had a second Roman-soldier counterpart living in the same time and area of the world in the first century A.D. I didn’t ask about any such possibility, either. I don’t attach any special meaning to these observations, although we may ask Seth to comment upon them eventually (see Note 2). If his material on counterparts is correct, any of us could have many such relationships going in a given century — too many to conveniently uncover, perhaps, considering the physical time that would be necessary to do the psychic work.

[...] Given Seth’s concept of simultaneous time, the best connection I’ve made so far between the two soldiers is that as counterparts of mine they explore questions having to do with authority. As I rebel against authority now — a characteristic remarked upon by Seth in the 721st session — so do my Roman selves in their times.

“Seth’s data and my own on counterparts make sense to me. I feel (as Seth mentioned in the 721st session) that I wasn’t Nebene, or two different Roman soldiers per se, but rather that my whole self chose to manifest such personalities together; that I, too, am such a manifestation at a “later” time, then, and that from my own vantage point I can tune in to those other lives. [...]

(“Of the book, or the Seth material?”

(I should add that after reading her the poetry and her new dictation, I read her the last three sessions for Seth’s The Way Toward Health, given on June 24, 26, and 27. [...]

(Jane’s Seth voice was average, her delivery good. [...]

[...] “Whatever happens, Bob, I’d like all of the material published someday, if it can be done. [...]

I am glad to see the progress that is being made on the book dealing with the Seth material.

(Jane had no idea of the material for the session before it began. She sat once again in the Kennedy rocker, across from my writing table, and dictated the material with her eyes closed. [...]

As mentioned earlier, however, the Seth Material does not ignore deeper questions having to do with the “beginning” of consciousness and of reality. I really think that this particular material can hold its own with the best metaphysical writings of our time. For this reason I am continuing this chapter with excerpts from sessions 426, 427, and 428, where Seth began with a fuller explanation of space, time, and probable realities and then led us, step by step, into a discussion of God.

In other words, the whole frame of reality according to Seth includes far more than reincarnation and development within the physical system that we know. [...] Whole blocks of Seth material discuss the potentials and makeup of consciousness as it is manifested in molecules, man, and pyramid energy gestalts. [...] But as Seth says, “Even this overall pyramid gestalt is not static. [...]

[...] It is the physical materialization of the inner selves which have formed it.” [...] Seth says that he did not exist as one historic personage. [...]

She hardly got the words out of her mouth before Seth interrupted her. [...] In the heat of the discussion, Seth and ESP in general had been forgotten. Now Seth’s voice really boomed out. [...]

(Along in here I had an insight as I wrote, no doubt triggered by Seth’s material. [...]

[...] Seth didn’t go into the first two, but the following material did have to do with reactions to those who wrote us. [...]

(We had several questions for Seth, including the one noted at the end of the last session: Why didn’t the unconscious realize it was going too far in its protective role? [...] Jane wrote the question up on a separate list, so that we’ll make sure the inquiries that develop are taken care of by Seth. [...]

(I also wanted Seth to comment upon my very discouraged reactions to the mail today; the letters were certainly not the kind we wanted in response to our efforts, I thought.

(As it turned out, we didn’t ask Seth about promotion work again, and he didn’t bring up the subject himself. The Seth Material was published in September, 1970, and we did go on tour.)

[...] I had left Artistic in 1972, to concentrate upon helping Jane with the Seth material. [...]

[...] I wanted a word from Seth on what our reactions should, or could, be, in light of yesterday’s session about living in the moment.

[...] The other was Seth’s comments on a very vivid and long dream I’d had last night.

[...] I also felt that the idea of authority was somehow connected with my shaky right hand, and since this aspect of the dream wasn’t discussed today, I’d like Seth to comment on it tomorrow if he has a session. [...]

(Seth’s material earlier this evening, about responsiveness to the world, in whatever form one chose, reminded me of an idea I’d mentioned to Jane last week. [...] I became concerned, though, about whether our beliefs had changed enough to make such contacts possible, or welcome to us if they did materialize.

[...] I didn’t realize it at the time, but upon typing this material I’d say that Seth didn’t directly answer my question on page 298. [...] The meeting of people, of course, is a part of the question, however, so in that sense Seth did consider it.

I will shortly begin to divide our sessions between personal material and other kinds. I want to commend you both, however, for utilizing the material in these later sessions, and I remind you to follow your own lists in the sessions.

(Jane said her eyes were feeling much better, although “full of moisture,” and that the copying work she did on James, following Seth’s suggestions in the last session, went well. [...]

1. Seth is letting his material automatically answer my question about early man; See Appendix 6, as well as Note 7 for Session 688. According to our dictionary, the geologic time span he indicates in tonight’s session falls within the Tertiary Period of the Cenozoic Era. [...]

[...] In connection with Seth’s material here, however: In the United States alone there have been many discoveries of human (and/or humanlike) tracks, both large and small, in very ancient rock formations. [...]

How does the human data from such very ancient times fit in with the comparatively modest dates — of “only” 50 million to 30 million years ago — that Seth cites for his mutated forms at the beginning of this session? [...] We think Seth can help put it together to at least some degree, should we ever ask him to try.

(“I started to get some material from Seth right after breakfast. [...] It’s as if this often happens, material being inserted and then “stacked up” or stored there for, say, the next session. For a few minutes, five or more, I was aware of quite a bit of material on work, and the Protestant mainstream [as separate from, say, Emerson or James or Thoreau, even]. [...]

[...] Seth was still around, she told me. [...] Even sitting in bed, she remarked that she was picking up more of that generalized material from Seth.

[...] I felt much better by the end of the session; remarkably so, so Seth’s material was on the mark. Then in the bathroom it came to me as we prepared to retire: the feeling in the groin was like a knot—and my realization had been triggered by Seth’s remark about tension I had created in that area. [...]

Now—a repeat performance—an instant replay of material given in other ways before, with a new slant. [...]

(Intrigued by giving such different and difficult material, Jane checked a few reference books before Pat Norelli’s Thanksgiving visit from Boston. [...]

(However, I do keep much of what Seth has said on such troubles in mind, even if it doesn’t show too well, often. In fact, I think his material and insights into the species’ behavior is the only sensible body of material on the subject that can stand questioning and understanding—no small achievement, as I often remind Jane. [...]

(By the same token, I try to keep Seth’s material in mind concerning her own challenges and problems, and this has helped enormously. [...]

(My two questions for Seth concerned the small lumps on the underside of Jane’s left arm, including one on her elbow, and the bright redness of the palms of her hands that I noticed the other day. [...] I asked that Seth comment.

[...] She merely wanted Seth to discuss “the whole thing.”

(I wasn’t at all sure, but I wondered whether Seth’s second delivery might have been in response to the talk Jane and I had had recently, in which I’d tried to explain my own ideas about the extent to which one could go with personal challenges like illness, say, or work, or whatever. Some of it had been based upon bits of Seth material that had come through lately, along with my own long-standing ideas. [...]

[...] Behind the importance of the letter as a triggering agent, however, there is, as he knows, much material still dealing with the so-called sinful-self material that I will be giving you shortly. [...]

[...] Her Seth voice was surprisingly strong, with the usual pauses.)

[...] She had been aware throughout the session of Seth’s stronger voice and more forceful delivery. [...]
