“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Just before tonight’s session I told Jane I hoped Seth would clear this matter up. [...] The 133rd session also contains a list of previous sessions in which Seth has dealt with Miss Callahan to varying degrees. [...] F. Watts has been dead perhaps twenty years, and is one of the personalities making up the Seth entity.

(Philip of course is the entity name for John Bradley, who has witnessed several sessions. While visiting us on the second day of my illness, John said that events transpiring within the drug firm he represents, Searle, appear to bear out predictions made by Seth some time ago. Seth had mentioned a time limit of several years for some of these predictions to work themselves out, and counseled patience on John’s part. [...]

(Sonja bought a painting from me on November 18, 1964, and is mentioned by Seth in the 108th session of that date. Louis witnessed the 89th session, held in Rochester, NY, and was also discussed by Seth in the 90th session. [...] Thus Jim and Louis were the two neutral visitors referred to by Seth.

(Jane has not been experimenting with psychological time since Seth suggested she stop at the time of her prolonged trance state of March 15.

[...] We are Seth, and whenever we have spoken we have been known as Seth. The entity had its beginning before the emergence of your time. It was instrumental, with many other entities, in the early formation of energy into physical form. We are not alone in this endeavor, for through your centuries other entities like us have also appeared and spoken.

“The Seth personality has been an intermediary and a legitimate one. [...] Seth is what I am, yet I am more than Seth is. Seth is, however, independent, and continues to develop as I do. [...]

“So I am the Seth that is beyond the Seth that you know. And in me the knowledge and vitality of that Seth still rings. In your terms, I am a future Seth, but the terms are meaningless to me.

Seth’s voice continued to get stronger. “I am the Seth that I say that I am, but I am also more. The Seth personality that is part of me is the portion that can most clearly communicate with you. [...]

[...] Portions of the overall Seth entity have participated in your system, as you know.

(At 8:45 tonight Jane said that Seth was going to talk about the York Beach apparitions we created at that resort in the summer of 1963, while on vacation there, in Maine. Jane had been writing about the incident this afternoon and I had wondered aloud if Seth could give more data on this. [...]

(Jane began speaking in the usual Seth manner.)

(“Good evening, Seth.”)

[...] (Seth’s entity name for me.)

[...] (Philip is Seth’s entity name for John.)

(John said Seth’s description of a younger man with a Slavic face and short prickly hair fits Bob Dineen, another salesman also present at the Rochester meeting. [...] Seth had given him black or brown hair.

(“Good evening, Seth.”

(Before the session Jane did not sense the pyramid or cone effect, as she usually does when Seth’s entity is to speak. Then Seth came through.

(During break I wondered aloud if Seth had to communicate with his entity before getting permission to speak. [...] The funny consequences are apparent when Jane resumes as Seth at 10:00.)

(Here Seth refers to a portrait I am working on without a model, of a bald man with rather young features. [...] Seth then gave the artist’s name as Van Elver, saying he was from Norway or Denmark and that he was giving Seth painting data to be passed along to me.)

[...] These concerned John’s uneasy feeling about his wife Peg, last week; the strange loss of feeling in his legs in hot weather; and an effort to learn something from Seth about a pilot who disappeared some four years ago in a light plane near John’s hometown, Franklin, LA, which is close to the Gulf of Mexico.

(Jane later said there was but a short break here, while Seth’s entity prepared to come through. [...]

(Seth:) You have tales, but tonight is not the night of telling. [...]

[...] (Referring to Rob’s Seth protrait.)

An entity on a par with the parents. [...]

I had some pertinent remarks to make this evening, and since Philip (Seth’s entity name for John Bradley) is indeed a friend, I shall feel free to make them, although they are somewhat of a personal nature, and directed to you and our reluctant medium.

([John and I:] “Good evening, Seth.”)

[...] John said that nothing in the impressions meant anything to him; he could see no connections—so much so, he said, that as Seth gave the impressions John wondered if they were really directed to him. [...]

([John:] “Good night Seth.”)

(Seth’s entity or larger personality spoke for the session. [...]

[...] She said, “I think I’m going to get the other one,” meaning Seth’s larger personality. [...]

(The larger Seth voice maintained its high, thin, clear and distant quality throughout.)

(Mark is Seth’s entity name for Bill Macdonnel.) A child was present, hence the Nina connection again. [...]

(Tonight we were not sure what Seth would discuss, so just before the session I asked that he talk about the seance held last week, representing the 435th session. [...]

(Jane made the humorous remark that she hoped she was “more than a doorway that Seth walked through.”)

(“Good evening, Seth.”)

(During break I wondered aloud if Seth’s entity, the larger Seth personality, was listening in on Seth’s data, to pick it up effortlessly as it was being given.

(Jane began speaking as Seth in trance at a rather rapid rate.)

(“Good evening, Seth.”)

(Just before break ended Jane said: “Seth was gone during break, but he just came back; I can feel him. [...]

Now, you shall celebrate with a Seth session. [...] My greetings to our friend, Philip (Seth’s entity name for John).

(“Good evening, Seth.”

([John:] “Good evening, Seth.”)

(Seth mentions an April meeting and John said that he expects to go to Chicago for a meeting this spring.

[...] Frank Watts in turn is a fragment of the Seth entity. Seth discussed Frank Watts to some degree in the 85th and 88th sessions, promising more data in the future.)

(The above paragraph brings to mind the fact that Seth discussed a dream of Bill Macdonnel’s during the 84th session; Bill witnessed the session, and afterwards told us he had no conscious memory of the dream, which had taken place a few days before the session according to Seth. Yet Seth analyzed the symbolic content of the dream rather thoroughly, saying it was an important one for Bill since it bore upon his home and professional life. [...]

[...] She said Seth had felt no apparent urge to elaborate on any of his answers to my questions. [...] She said she sensed a slight irritation on Seth’s part when I asked if anybody else had listened to the tape with Dr. Instream; it was as though Seth could get the information to answer the question, but didn’t feel inclined to so exert himself.

(Seth has discussed dreams to some extent in many sessions; too many to list here. [...] For a few examples of the manner in which Seth interprets dreams, see the 85th, 93rd and 94th sessions. [...]

[...] Ruburt is not particularly pleased with what he knows I am about to say, but I am not held by the same social rules that hold him in this particular manner, and I know Philip (Seth’s entity name for John Bradley) perhaps better than he does.

(It is of interest here to note that in the 134th session Seth also announced that I had painted a likeness of him. [...] I have not asked Seth about the discrepancy yet of course, but Jane feels they both represent different facets of the Seth entity or personality.)

(Lorraine was not consciously aware of the questions she has evidently been considering, according to Seth, although she said she is aware of the ideas she has about the Seth material.

[...] Seth/ Jane was highly amused while delivering the above paragraph. Strangely, as far as I recall no one had ever mentioned the possibility of Seth laughing, myself included.)

[...] He had just begun when Seth came through again, loud and clear. [...] It was obvious that she and Seth enjoyed the proceedings immensely. [...]

(I presume here that by “earliest session” Seth refers to his first material on the fifth dimension, given in the 12th session. [...] Frank Watts is a fragment of Seth’s entity. Seth stated recently that the Seth material begins when he announced his presence to us by name, and this would be in the 4th session. See the 85th session, Volume 2, page 336, for Seth’s statement concerning the Frank Watts material.)

[...] Jane has been quite surprised to find many references in these books that tally with what Seth has said. Many other points in the books have served as jumping-off points for Seth’s material, also.)

[...] Seth discussed computers and their future use; Wesley Swan agreed with the data. Seth also gave a good deal of personal data concerning a Brian Houlihan, a friend of Pat’s and some data concerning Claire and Pat, and answered questions from all of us. [...] One interesting bit: Seth named Claire’s birthday correctly—as falling on February 13, but missed the year by one. [...]

[...] Seth presented some very interesting material on flying saucers, time, other systems, etc. Peggy took notes that were somewhat incomplete because of Seth’s rapid pace. [...]

[...] I had been hoping Seth, or Jane, might come up with Caroline Keck’s husband, Sheldon, or her son Larry, who is named on the object itself. [...] Of course I was involved with another man, and this involvement Seth picked up—since my drawing was appropriated by Larry Keck, as noted on the object.
